There’s an increasing awareness that “leaky gut” is a problem for many people and contributes to many chronic health issues. But sometimes it can be a bit tricky to put this into context to understand how relevant it is for you as an individual and how much you should pay attention to it.
In my practice, I’ve found that leaky gut is fairly ubiquitous and is simply a matter of degree. A gut that’s too permeable can cause illness and likewise illness and chronic stress make the gut more permeable.
So, as far relevance, yes, this is relevant to you. Should you be freaking out about it? That’s probably counter-productive. Just know that for a chronically leaky gut, it can take 8 months to a year to properly remove contributing factors and to heal and seal the gut. The extent to which you can remove contributing dietary and environmental factors plays a roll in how long this takes as well.
But do rest assured that the process you’re currently undertaking definitely addresses leaky gut. The botanical support, particularly MG and MG+, can improve the health of the gut lining and seal up gap junctions. The dietary advice is also supportive here as well.
