By directing our attention towards tissue repair, we can actually use our mind to allocate resources towards healing. This is a well-documented and trainable skill.
One distinction I’d like to make is that when this practice is used, it’s often brought in two early when someone may not have the mental resources to achieve this. Just like someone might decide to train for a marathon, but if they have a broken ankle, that really needs to be attended to first.
But learning how to direct mental resources in this way and strengthen the accuracy and detail of your interoceptive maps (maps of how your body is organized and functioning), can supercharge healing and actually reverse aging.
